Lecture: Who cares if we live?

Patients are increasingly being given God-like information on their lives - but have we developed God-like responsibility for this?

Rapid advances in reproductive and genetic technology are transforming the way new human beings can be created, selected and modified. At the same time powerful medical technology is able to keep elderly people alive in the face of devastating diseases and degenerative conditions. How can we respond to these complex ethical challenges at the beginning and end of life?

In 2017 I gave a lecture offering some practical steps to address these issues at Hong Kong University as part of a series called When Science Meets Religion. You can watch it below:
